Grub is probably LA’s most popular brunch spot, if the crowds are any indication.
This cute old house turned restaurant packs them in, stuffing folks to the gills with their famous croissant French toast and over the top omelettes.
If you are a hungry person who cannot wait for the normal brunch hour, the crowds are quite minimal at opening time (9 a.m.) and the absolutely wonderful food is a much better reward than a worm for the early bird.
They serve one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had, stuffing it to the gills with eggs, cheese and potatoes (not too many) with just the right amount of spicy chorizo.
The Friggin’ Amazing French Toast is the obvious choice if you’re in a sweeter mood, but also good for sharing with a few people and also ordering something else if you don’t want to put yourself into a coma.
If you want a happy medium between sugar and savory, the Ooh La La! Breakfast sandwich is the way to go. It’s an egg and crack bacon sandwich but with croissant French toast instead of bread. You don’t have to add any syrup if you want, but just a little bit does make turn this dish into a tasty masterpiece.
The creative selection of mimosas are fun and very delicious, we highly enjoyed both the Raspberry Jalapeno and the Lemon Basil options.
This place has really earned it’s spot as LA’s top brunch and I’m happy to grub out at Grub anytime I wake up early enough to avoid too much human interaction.
