Factor’s Deli has the distinction of employing the rudest waitress I have ever encountered.

She’s been snarling at customers for years.

I’m positive that decades of disappointing tips have only added to her intense hostility, but she is so comically, over-the-top unpleasant, that I really wished she was our waitress today so my friends could see the show.

I remember once I wasn’t ready to order yet and she rolled her eyes, sighed heavily, scowled and stormed off like I had just insulted her grey, curly mullet. BTW, her hairstyle has not changed in 10+ years unless she decides to get fancy and pull it back with a stern, black hair band.

In days past, I always ordered the Fish and Chips but they have a really excellent Matzo Ball Soup which I was keen to revisit.

It’s still top notch.

My meatloaf sandwich was ok yet a little odd tasting but the Pastrami sandwich on Rye was excellent. A half sandwich and soup with a side is always going to be plenty of food for one person.

And if you attempt to save your waitress some effort and stack the empty plates for her, you shall be scolded like an insolent child. Be forewarned.

But please still do it so you’ll have a rude waitress story to tell your friends.
