Javan is one of the more popular Persian restaurants around but as I’ve said in the past, every Persian restaurant in Westwood appears to serve the exact same dishes, prepared the exact same way.
I’ve yet to discover any discernible difference besides a minor alteration here or there.
Hopefully that isn’t as bad as saying all Persian people look alike?! I still feel a pang of guilt for saying it all tastes the same. And I’ve been to my share of Persian restaurants.
Today, the Bread Guy enjoyed his usual Fesenjan (chicken in a pomegranate and walnut sauce), which was a smaller portion than I’ve seen (but still ample) and I ordered the usual Beef Koobideh, which are these incredible moist kababs of seasoned ground beef.
Javan is certainly worth checking out but if you drive by accidentally, just keep going. You’ll hit another place and I’m sure it will be just as good.
I’m the worst reviewer of Persian restaurants, ever!
