When I first moved to LA all those years ago, people used to tell me that the best pizza in LA could be found in Eagle Rock, at Casa Bianca.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

What we enjoyed tonight was not delivery, it was DiGiorno.

It tasted like something straight from the freezer section, the crust was like cardboard.

Keep in mind, I enjoy frozen pizza and I enjoyed this pizza as well.

But the game has changed.

Pizza has evolved.

No longer are we satisfied with the pizza our parents took us out to eat.

Casa Bianca no longer has a place amongst the kind of high quality pizza LA has to offer.

It’s a kitchy, warm, casual pizza parlor with excellent meatballs, super friendly servers and checkered tablecloths you don’t mind spilling on.

Nothing wrong with any of that.

If Casa Bianca was located in Silverlake, it would be filled with a much trendier crowd (I’m trying to avoid using the term “hipster”) but here it was was 50% elderly and the other half comprised of the children/grandchildren who were taking them out. So sweet.

Keep your expectations low when visiting and maybe order a pasta or two. Maybe even skip the pizza altogether.
