No matter where you live in LA, Maximiliano’s in Highland Park (near Eagle Rock) is definitely worth the drive.
The space is large and minimally upscale and the service is very friendly.
Pizzas are definitely sized for one person to (mostly) finish and then take a slice or two home. So, order a few and share! Unless you have no friends, then you are more than welcomed to invite me. I’ll say no, because I don’t enjoy strangers but I could certainly recommend someone willing. You’re paying, right?
As far as favorites go, I was torn between the Deluxe (sausage, pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms) and the Potato Spinach pizza. Both were super crispy with ample, flavorful toppings. Crust was on the thicker side, so come hungry.
Thelma and Louise both loved the Mushroom pizza more than I did but I still managed to devour several slices eagerly.
They have a full breakfast menu for brunch but we only touched on the pizza section today.
Highland Park is an up and coming neighborhood with dozens of cute shops and bistros. Worth the drive on a weekend, I probably wouldn’t recommend in rush hour traffic unless you live on the eastside already or love long drives / books on tape.
