Southern Decadence –
Buttermilk biscuit, chicken fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, country sausage gravy, sunny side up egg
Since 1949, Echo Park has had a Brite Spot amongst its breakfast choices.
Sorry, I had to go there.
You can choose to go several routes here. Healthy and simple, or grotesque and artery clogging.
Three guesses which path I chose…
The Southern Decadance is all that and more. Somewhere in all that jazz is a slab of chicken fried chicken, topped with a large, flakey biscuit some cheese and a fried egg and topped with ample sausage gravy.
This kind of situation is what I see happening for my death row last meal. Breakfast for dinner! How fun, I would think. Shortly before pondering which vein they would use for lethal injection.
The dish was over the top and delicious. If I had one complaint, I would say the gravy could have been a bit more flavorful, but after a few dashes of tabasco (not my hot sauce of choice, but all they had) it was as good as I could hope for.
The Hangover was a nice, less insanely fattening option if you’re into scrambles (which I am. Sexually) the habanero sausage was really spicy and delicious.
The BLTA was, at first, missing the A but it was soon brought once we complained about it being skipped but they sure put a ton of bacon on this the thing. Heavy on the B, light on everything else.
Service was a bit slow on a Sunday afternoon, so come here if you’re in the mood for a leisurely outing and not for grub and go.
