Couscous “Royale†with Lamb Stew, Lamb Chops, Chicken & Merguez Sausage –
Harissa and Onion Confit
Here’s the thing about Little Door: only come here for a special occasion.
Dining at any other time would be missing the point.
Little Door is far too pretty to be sullied with after work drinks or a Tuesday night dinner with the parents.
Don’t even bother. Your parents probably have really bad eyesight anyway and the gorgeous outdoor courtyard would be wasted on them.
They probably wouldn’t want to see the outrageous menu prices, either. Everything is about $10 overpriced but your paying for the ambiance and that damned beeootiful courtyard.
About the food…
Like I said, the food isn’t worth the price but it’s a special occasion so splurge a little, cheapskate!
The two times I’ve been here, I’ve ordered the Cous Cous Royale, which comes in a impressive tagine filled with a wondrous concoction of lamb, chicken and Merguez sausage (and cous cous and veggies).
It’s ginormous, very tasty and could easily feed 3 people.
Add the Brussels Sprouts, Kale and Roasted Quinoa Salad and the very tasty Duck Liver and Port Wine Mousse on truffle brioche toast and you’ve got enought to satisfy an army.
Only if the army were celebrating something special, like winning a war or whatever.
