PEPPERCORN STEAK –
prime new york strip, cracked black and white peppercorns, proprietary “F17†steak sauce on the side, topped with lobster
Flemings is a chain steak house, the kind of place I rarely venture to.
Not that I’m some food snob (I have a not-so-secret Chef Boyardee addiction) I just don’t love steak and if you want to see a chain’s food pictures, you can simply visit their website (or any one of their 150 locations).
However, tonight Clyde was invited by the Flemings folks (as he is a big wig who works across the street) for a free meal.
Thankfully he chose his dining companion correctly. Me!
With the encouragement of our gracious and lovely server, we pretty much ordered everything on the menu.
With the exception of Thanksgiving, I haven’t felt that uncomfortable after a meal in a long time.
Highlights were the Baby Lamb Chops (loved the two dipping sauces) the Wedge Salad (classic) the Chipotle Mac and Cheese, the crab cakes and the two decadent, insane desserts.
I enjoyed the flavors of the Roasted Mushroom Ravioli but they mushrooms tasted a bit rubbery.
The Porcini rubbed Filet Mignon was well cooked but I would have liked the porcini to come through more. Mozza has that situation perfected.
Thanks again to our bright and cheery server, you really made our evening more fun because honestly, I can’t stand the sight of Clyde anymore. Don’t tell him I said so. I’ll deny it. I’ll tell him YOU wrote this blog.

Well golly, the last time I ate there I had the poops mcgoops for days!
Yep, our Mozza ribeye looked better. Still can’t complain at how this looks though!
