I’m a big fan of Asian street food. (There’s no bigger Asian street in LA than Sawtelle!)
Nothing with entrails, blood or obscene shrimp heads, mind you. I’m talking about the stuff blatantly altered for the white bread American market!
Seoul Sausage apparently won the most recent season of the Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race, walking away with $50K to continue making their infamous Kimchi rice balls on a larger scale.
I’m not sure if $50K is enough to open up an actual brick and mortar restaurant (apparently, it helps) but I’m certainly glad to have them on my radar!
Funny enough, they never actually made any sausages on the Food Truck Race show (they couldn’t afford the casings) instead they made these amazing rice balls.
I know they’re amazing cuz I recently ate one. Yes. I ate one of their balls.
Predictable ball jokes aside, they really are delish. The sausages are fantastic too! Served on a super soft bun, with only a few simple but effective spreads to lubricate its way down your piggy throat.
