Chefs Favorite Burger - cheese two ways, bacon two ways, ketchup leather, sunny fried egg, hot sauce

Just when I think I’ve found the best burger in LA, I’m thrown for a calorie-ridden loop!

This burger is effing fantastic. I mean, look at it! It’s gratuitous. It’s voluptuous.

You should actually look away now, it’s making me uncomfortable.

Now, I’m generally a no-bacon-on-my-burger kind of guy. Bacon is a god in it’s own right, but he sometimes likes to take over.

But how could I say no to this??

The wagyu beef was cooked perfectly, the bacon didn’t overpower, it wasn’t too big to bite into.

Loved the addition of the cheese crisp. I guess that’s what they meant by cheese two ways.

And shockingly, it wasn’t as greasy as it looks!

Wait a second, I said stop looking.

The fries were great. Not too crispy, Chesty Morgan prefers that subtle limpness.

A fry that ergonomically droops right into your mouth, for optimal comfort.

Plan Check is the hot new place on Sawtelle as the lunch crowds out the door can attest to.

Get there past 1 p.m. for lunch and you’re screwed.

However, while you’re being screwed you’ll be treated to the best burger this side of the 405 freeway. Or, at least, watch others enjoy theirs.
