This is the best thing to come out of the French occupation of Vietnam.
After driving to Alhambra for dim sum, I felt since we had journeyed so far, we may as well grab a $2.75 Banh Mi from one of LA Magazine’s picks for best sandwich.
Where on earth will you find a delicious footlong sub for $2.75??
Be warned, this place is as casual (dumpy) as they come. Order your sandwich, wait outside nervously next to that cop that you had previously hauled ass past, grab your sub and go! (once you’ve had that first bite cuz you’re a pig and you can’t wait, even though you just filled up on dim sum 10 minutes ago.)
I believe this version does have a little Pate spread on it but I also added my own Sriracha mayo as everyone knows I like a moist sandwich.
In direct proportion to how much I dislike the word “moist”.
While this wasn’t the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had (I like it better on the chewier Vietnamese roll that some places serve) it did the trick.
