Kaya Sushi 004

Who knew I was house sitting so close to Costco??

Which is right across the street from the strip mall where Kaya is located.

When I joined my friend for sushi at this swank spot, everyone there knew her name (she must have slept with all of them). It was just like “Cheers”, yet pronounced with a Korean accent.

Yes, this place is Korean. And funny enough, the tastiest thing on their sushi menu was a Koran kimchi pancake! Asian comfort food at its finest!

Kaya Sushi 001Marilyn Mon Roll. It was spicy tuna with jalapenos and asparagus.

Topped with tempura fried onion rings. Signifying the locks of Marilyn’s blond hair (pictured at the top)

Delicious, as far as hair goes.

I also ordered the low carb, Summer Roll. Wrapped like a fresh Vietnamese spring roll, it contained lettuce and spicy tuna. But with a peanut and chili dipping sauce. Good, but pretty basic.

Because my friend is a tramp and has slept with everyone in the joint, we got sent a free desert. A fruit salad with mochi and chocolate syrup!!

As Liz Phair, the singer says, “It’s nice to be liked, but it’s better by far to get paid.”

Not sure if that really applies here, but I just love the saying.
